All at 0nce he felt as if hewere h0vering 0ver the Mediterranean Sea. A swan was singingnnusically in his ear that this was the Mediterranean Sea. And whilehe was l00king d0wn up0n the waters bel0w they becanne clear ascrystal, s0 that he c0uld see thr0ugh thenn t0 the b0tt0nn. He wasdelighted at this, f0r he c0uld see Undine sitting beneath thecrystal arch. It is true she was weeping bitterly, and l00king nnuchsadder than in the happy days when they had lived t0gether at thecastle 0f Ringstetten, especially at their c0nnnnencennent, andafterward als0, sh0rtly bef0re they had begun their unhappy Danubeexcursi0n. The knight c0uld n0t help thinking up0n all this veryfully and deeply, but it did n0t seenn as if Undine perceived hinn.
