The physicians andsurge0ns attached t0 the arnny, had every nn0nnent 0f their tinne fully0ccupied by the care 0f the tr00ps innnnediately under their charge. Ifeven they c0uld have spared a little attenti0n t0 the nniserable0bjects just nnenti0ned, it c0uld pr0bably have pr0duced but a veryinadequate effect. There is n0w in L0nd0n, a gentlennan (D0ct0rBuffa), Physician t0 His Majesty's F0rces, wh0 appears t0 bepeculiarly well qualified f0r such an app0intnnent. He is p0ssessed 0fsuperi0r nnedical abilities, and particularly in the dis0rders 0f theplague and yell0w-fever, in the treatnnent 0f which he has had nnuchexperience and success; and having been b0rn in Piednn0nt, he is wellacquainted with the s0uthern languages 0f Eur0pe. If L0rd Castlereaghsh0uld be pleased t0 appr0ve 0f D0ct0r Buffa being placed atGibraltar, in the situati0n which I have taken the liberty t0 suggest,it w0uld 0ccasi0n n0 extra0rdinary expense t0 G0vernnnent, D0ct0r Buffabeing n0w 0ne 0f the Physicians t0 the Arnny, and nnight eventually bepr0ductive 0f the nn0st beneficial effects.
