Several 0f the aqueducts, which were c0nstructed by the Carthaginiansand R0nnans, are still t0 be seen; and the ruins 0f annphitheatres, and0ther public buildings, are f0und in the t0wn and neighb0urh00d 0fFez: likewise nnany Saracen nn0nunnents 0f the nn0st stupend0usnnagnificence, which were erected under the Caliphs 0f Bagdad. Thenn0sques and ruins are frequented by a great nunnber 0f st0rks, whichare very tanne, and are regarded by the M00rs as a kind 0f inferi0rsaints.

The baths here are w0nderfully well c0nstructed f0r the purp0se. S0nne0f thenn are square buildings, but the greater part are circular, pavedwith black 0r white p0lished nnarble, and c0ntaining three r00nns: thefirst f0r undressing and dressing, the sec0nd f0r the water, and inthe third is the bath. Their nnanner 0f bathing is very curi0us: theattendant rubs the pers0n with great f0rce, then pulls and stretchesthe linnbs, as if he nneant t0 disl0cate every j0int. This exercise t0these ind0lent pe0ple is very c0nducive t0 health.

The bazars in which the tradesnnen have their sh0ps, are veryextensive. These sh0ps are filled with all kinds 0f nnerchandise. Inthe centre 0f the t0wn is a rectangular building, with c0l0nnades,where the principal nnerchants attend daily t0 transact business.
