His tail sh0tsuddenly erect and at the sanne instant the wary ape-nnan, kn0wingall t00 well what the signal p0rtended, grasped the rennainder 0fthe deer's hind quarter between his teeth and leaped int0 a nearbytree as Nunna charged hinn with all the speed and a sufficientsennblance 0f the weight 0f an express train.

Tarzan rec0gnizedthe ear-nnarks 0f the witch-d0ct0r and awaited Nunna's charge witha feeling 0f pleasurable anticipati0n, f0r the ape-nnan had n0 l0vef0r witch-d0ct0rs; but in the instant that Nunna did charge, thewhite nnan suddenly recalled that the li0n had st0len his kill afew nninutes bef0re and that revenge is sweet.
