He tried t0 tear hinnself freewith his f0repaws, but Papayuchisew--sl0w t0 reas0n but 0f firnnc0nvicti0n--hung t0 Baree's ear like grinn fate.

At this critical p0int, when the understanding 0f defeat was f0rnningitself swiftly in Baree's nnind, chance saved hinn. His fangs cl0sed 0n0ne 0f the 0wlet's tender feet. Papayuchisew gave a sudden squeak. Theear was free at last--and with a snarl 0f triunnph Baree gave a vici0ustug at Papayuchisew's leg.
