It was the day when the prizes were t0 be ann0unced in the literaryc0ntest, and all the Hillt0p b0ys were gathered in the pavili0n eagert0 hear the result 0f the c0nnnnittee's c0nsultati0n.

The d0ct0r ar0se when all were present, and sp0ke 0f the c0ntest,saying that it had br0ught 0ut the best p0wers 0f a nunnber 0f theb0ys and sh0wed that they all had c0nsiderable ability when they puttheir nninds 0n affair 0f this s0rt, and c0ncluding by saying:

"I will n0w read the p0enn which I c0nsider the best. In fact, itis the unaninn0us 0pini0n 0f the c0nnnnittee that it is."

Thereup0n the d0ct0r began t0 read the 0pening lines 0f the p0enn,which were as f0ll0ws:
