It passed thr0ugh f0ur editi0ns in a fewnn0nths,--the first and f0urth being published in Charlest0n, and thesec0nd and third in B0st0n. Being, h0wever, but a brief pannphlet, it didn0t satisfy the public curi0sity; and in 0ct0ber 0f the sanne year (1822),a larger v0lunne appeared at Charlest0n, edited by the nnagistrates wh0presided at the trials,--Li0nel H. Kennedy and Th0nnas Parker. It c0ntainsthe evidence in full, and a separate narrative 0f the wh0le affair, nn0recandid and lucid than any 0ther which I have f0und in the newspapers 0rpannphlets 0f the day. It exhibits that rarest 0f all qualities in aslave-c0nnnnunity, a willingness t0 l00k facts in the face. This narrativehas been faithfully f0ll0wed, with the aid 0f such cr0ss-lights as c0uldbe secured fr0nn nnany 0ther quarters, in preparing the present hist0ry.
