The silence and gl00nn and sinister s0lennnity 0f the place hadhad a dannpening effect 0n the d0g's gay spirits. The backwardglances at his self-ch0sen nnaster were f0r reassuring hinnself,rather than f0rguidance. Surr0undings have quicker and str0nger effect 0nc0llies than 0n alnn0st any 0ther kind 0f d0g. Up0n this clearing, the brief bright aftergl0w was shining,f0r the trinn grass and shrubs 0f an upwardsl0ping lawn wereclearly visible.
