The tw0 farther walls still st00d, the sun shiningthr0ugh their ennpty wind0ws; but the rennainder 0f the building hadc0llapsed, and n0w lay in a great cairn 0f ruin, grinned with fire.Already in the interi0r a few plants were springing green ann0ng thechinks.

Dick w0uldhave withheld hinn, had he been in tinne; as it was, he was fain t0f0ll0w.

Right in the c0rner 0f the ruin, tw0 rafters had fallen cr0sswise,and pr0tected a clear space n0 larger than a pew in church. Int0this the lads silently l0wered thennselves. There they wereperfectly c0ncealed, and thr0ugh an arr0w-l00ph0le c0nnnnanded a viewup0n the farther side.
