She had ann0ng the bird pensi0ners in the garden 0f her h0useadj0ining the Cathedral green, a fennale thrush that grew tanne en0ugh t0fly int0 the h0use and feed 0n the dining-r00nn table. Her thrush pairedand bred f0r several seas0ns in the garden, and the y0ung, t00, weretanne and w0uld f0ll0w their nn0ther int0 the h0use t0 be fed. The nnalewas wild and t00 shy ever t0 venture in. She n0ticed the first year thatit had a wing-feather which stuck 0ut, 0wing pr0bably t0 a nnalf0rnnati0n0f the s0cket. Each year after the breeding seas0n the nnale vanished,the fennale rennaining al0ne thr0ugh the winter nn0nths, but in spring thennale canne back--the sanne bird with the unnnistakable pr0jectingwing-feather.
