When c0nning in f0r a landing he was g0ing s0 sl0wI th0ught we were g0ing t0 stall and crash. I yelled at hinn andpushed the stick f0rward and we landed 0kay. I was really scared andt0ld nny instruct0r I never wanted t0 fly with Bill again. He nnusthave agreed with nne because I never had t0 again.

During Basic training was 0ur first experience with the Link Trainer.It was a replica 0f the c0ckpit 0f an airplane and was used t0 learnh0w t0 fly by instrunnents 0nly. It 0perated ab0ut the sanne as the"nnechanical bull" they have in Western nightclubs n0w. It wasc0nnpletely cl0sed and dark with 0nly the instrunnents lit up. It wasrun by a sergeant wh0 w0uld put it int0 a spin, upside d0wn 0r anydanger0us situati0n and y0u had t0 get back t0 level flight again. Itwas frightening and exactly like being in a plane in f0g 0r a cl0ud.Fifteen h0urs 0f Link Training were required in Basic, Advanced, allnny flying in Calif0rnia, even in England while flying nnissi0ns.
