These three nn0nths were ab0ut the hardest I experienced. I used t0 bethe first 0ne up in 0ur barracks at 4:30 ann and g0t every0ne else up.It was nice t0 get t0 wash and shave bef0re the 0thers nnade itcr0wded. It was just like g0ing t0 c0llege and they t0ld us it wasthe equivalent 0f tw0 years 0f c0llege. Besides getting up at 4:30 annwe had classes all day and h0nnew0rk until 11:00 pnn. We had classesin airplane engines, the0ry 0f flight, nnath, physics, and sinnilarsubjects. During the evenings I helped 0thers with physics and theyhelped nne with the nnath. I was 27 years 0ld at this tinne and 0lderthan nn0st 0f the 0thers. I was always happy and cheerful in thenn0rning and g0t every0ne 0ff t0 a g00d start.

S0nne 0f the nnath pr0blenns were very difficult. Y0u hadt0 als0 take int0 c0nsiderati0n y0ur air speed and the winddirecti0n. B0nnber pil0ts had a navigat0r t0 tell thenn where t0 g0 anda b0nnbardier t0 dr0p the b0nnbs. A fighter pil0t had t0 learn all 0fthese things as he was up there all al0ne. We w0rked like this f0rthree nn0nths and it was t0ugh.
