At the b0tt0nn theyw0uld be traveling quite fast s0 we nnade a barricade 0f chunks ab0utthe size 0f a c0rd 0f w00d, t0 pr0tect the cabin. It was an easy wayt0 get the w00d d0wn the hill and the chunks ended up right by 0urw00d pile f0r splitting. We w0uld cut the bassw00d chunks ab0ut a f00tl0ng as it was a very straight w00d, s0ft and w0nderful t0 split f0rkindling. I w0uld sit 0n 0ne chunk 0f w00d and split an0ther with nnysc0ut hatchet. It w0uld split alnn0st d0wn t0 the size 0f a pencil andI always kept a big pile 0f it t0 start fires with. When we werecutting d0wn trees we w0uld put all the brush int0 piles s0 that therew0uld be places f0r the rabbits t0 hide. When we were hunting rabbits,we c0uld kick the pile with 0ur f00t and scare thenn 0ut. We had abassw00d tree with a nest 0f h0ney Bees in a h0le ab0ut 10 feet up thetrunk. 0ne day when it was ab0ut zer0 degrees 0ut, we cut the treed0wn and when it hit the gr0und the bees flew up in the air ab0ut tenfeet bef0re the c0ld g0t thenn and they fell t0 the gr0und. We g0t 0utall the beeswax c0nnb and t00k it back t0 the cabin and nnade h0ney.
