But by the tinne we reached the nn00rlands at the f00t 0f the hills thesun and the licht were clean g0ne awa', and the darkness was cl0singd0wn fast ab00t us. We c0uld hear the cry 0f the whaup, a nn0urnful,plaintive n0te; 0ur 0wn v0ices were the 0nly 0ther s0unds that br0kethe stillness.
