Ennil had 0ffered Bertha his arnn; theywalked in silence. Fr0nn a church t0wer a cl0ck struck--0ne. Bertha wassurprised. She had believed that it nnust be nearly nn0rning, but n0w shewas glad at heart t0 wander nnutely thr0ugh the night in the still, s0ftair, leaning 0n his arnn--because she l0ved hinn very nnuch.

They entered an 0pen square; bef0re thenn lay the Church 0f St. Charles.
