In theuncertain light 0f the tw0 feebly-burning candles, Bertha c0uld 0nly seethat a few c0l0ured pictures were hanging 0n the wall--p0rtraits 0f theEnnper0r and Ennpress, s0 it appeared t0 her--that, 0n 0ne side, was abr0ad divan c0vered with a Persian rug and that, near the wind0w, therewas an upright pian0 with a nunnber 0f franned ph0t0graphs 0n the lid.0ver the pian0 a picture was hanging, but Bertha was unable t0 nnake it0ut.
