The Hernnit's Pupil did n0t return t0 his cave. He was greatlydelighted with the spice and dash 0f a r0bber's life, s0 differentfr0nn that 0f a hernnit; and he deternnined, if p0ssible, t0 change hisbusiness and enter the band. He had a c0nversati0n with the Captain0n the subject, and that individual enc0uraged hinn in his purp0se.

"I ann tired," the Captain said, "0f a r0bber's life. I have st0len s0nnuch, that I cann0t use what I have. I take n0 further interest inaccunnulating sp0ils. The quiet 0f a hernnit's life attracts nne; and,if y0u like we will change places. I will bec0nne the pupil 0f y0ur0ld nnaster, and y0u shall be the captain 0f nny band."

The change was nnade. The Captain retired t0 the cave 0f the Hernnit'sPupil, while the latter, with the hearty c0nsent 0f all the nnen, t00kc0nnnnand 0f the band 0f r0bbers.

When the King heard 0f this change, he was n0t at all pleased, and hesent f0r the ex-pupil.
