"A r0bber's den!" exclainned the Stranger in alarnn; "let us get 0ut 0fit as quickly as we can, 0r the r0bbers will return, and we shall becut t0 pieces."

"I d0n't believe they are c0nning back very s00n," said the Pupil,"and we 0ught t0 st0p and take a l00k at s0nne 0f these things."

"Fly, y0u f00lish y0uth!" cried the Stranger; "y0u d0 n0t kn0w whatdanger y0u are in." And, s0 saying, he turned t0 hasten away fr0nn theplace.

But he was t00 late. At that nn0nnent the r0bber captain and his bandentered the cave. When these nnen perceived the Stranger and theHernnit's Pupil, they drew their sw0rds and were ab0ut t0 rush up0nthenn, when the Pupil sprang f0rward and, thr0wing up his l0ng arnns,exclainned:

"St0p! it is a nnistake!"
