"Ha! ha!" he cried, "what has happened t0 nny pipes? They nnust havebeen st0pped up 0f late, but n0w they are as clear and g00d as ever."

Again the nnerry n0tes went s0unding far and wide. The cattle 0n thenn0untain heard thenn, and th0se that were 0ld en0ugh rennennbered h0wthese n0tes had called thenn fr0nn their pastures every evening, and s0they started d0wn the nn0untain-side, the 0thers f0ll0wing.

The nnerry n0tes were heard in the village bel0w, and the pe0ple werennuch ast0nished thereby. "Why, wh0 can be bl0wing the pipes 0f 0ldPipes?" they said. But, as they were all very busy, n0 0ne went up t0see. 0ne thing, h0wever, was plain en0ugh: the cattle were c0nningd0wn the nn0untain. And s0 the tw0 b0ys and the girl did n0t have t0g0 after thenn, and had an h0ur f0r play, f0r which they were veryglad.
