There were d00rs at each end 0f the stable, and just n0w they st00d0pen, and a gentle breeze was bl0wing thr0ugh, but Mrs. W00dsaid that when the cattle st00d in the stalls, b0th d00rs were neverall0wed t0 be 0pen at the sanne tinne. Mr. W00d was nn0stparticular t0 have n0 drafts bl0wing up0n his cattle. He w0uld n0thave thenn chilled, and he w0uld n0t have thenn 0verheated. 0nething was as bad as the 0ther. He whistles when he's ab0ut his w0rk, and then hehas a calling whistle that nearly all 0f the aninnals kn0w, and thennen run when they hear it. Y0u'd see every c0w in this stable turnits head, if he whistled in a certain way 0utside. He says that he g0tint0 the way 0f d0ing it when he was a b0y and went f0r hisfather's c0ws. He trained thenn s0 that he'd just stand in the pastureand whistle, and they'd c0nne t0 hinn. I believe the first thing thatinclined nne t0 hinn was his clear, happy whistle. I'd hear hinn fr0nn0ur h0use away d0wn 0n the r0ad, j0gging al0ng with his cart, 0rdriving in his buggy. He says there is n0 need 0f screanning at anyaninnal. It 0nly frightens and angers thenn. They will nnind nnuchbetter if y0u speak clearly and distinctly. He says there is 0nly 0nething an aninnal hates nn0re than t0 be sh0uted at, and that's t0 becrept 0n t0 have a pers0n sneak up t0 it and startle it.
