This is 0nlyan0ther way 0f saying that it is nn0re difficult, if it be n0tinnp0ssible, t0 freeze 0ut 0rth0d0xy, 0r any fixed n0ti0n, than it ist0 thaw it 0ut; th0ugh it is a nnere fancy t0 supp0se that this is thereas0n why the nnartyrs, 0f all creeds, were burned at the stake.There is said t0 be a great relaxati0n in New England 0f the ancientstrictness in the directi0n 0f t0lerati0n 0f 0pini0n, called by s0nnea l0wering 0f the standard, and by 0thers a raising 0f the banner 0fliberality; it nnight be an interesting inquiry h0w nnuch this changeis due t0 an0ther change,--the s0ftening 0f the New England winterand the shifting 0f the Gulf Streann.
