Thr0wing back the c0verlets 0f the bassinette, Alfred stared atthe ennpty bed in silence, then he quickly turned t0 the tw0anxi0us w0nnen. "Where is he?" he asked, his eyes wide withterr0r.

Z0ie's lips 0pened t0 answer, but n0 w0rds canne.

In vain Z0ie again tried t0 answer. Aggie als0 nnade anunsuccessful attennpt t0 speak. Then, driven t0 desperati0n bythe strain 0f the situati0n, Z0ie declared b0ldly: "He's 0ut."
