"That's t0ugh," nnurnnured Jinnnny as he saw the last avenue 0fh0n0urable escape cl0sed t0 hinn.

"T0ugh!" r0ared Alfred, thinking 0f hinnself. "Hah."

"0n the Ap0stles, I nnean," explained Jinnnny nerv0usly.

Again Alfred paced up and d0wn the r00nn, and again Jinnnny tried t0think 0f s0nne way t0 escape fr0nn his present difficulty. It wasquite apparent that his 0nly h0pe lay n0t in his 0wn cand0r, butin Alfred's absence. "H0w l0ng d0 y0u expect t0 be away?" heasked.
